Environmental Impact Assessment

We assess the environmental impacts of sites and projects across emissions, water, waste, land and biodiversity, and set out the mitigation and monitoring that follow. The work starts from a documented baseline and applies clear significance criteria, so attention goes to effects that genuinely matter rather than to everything equally. We apply the mitigation hierarchy in order — avoid, reduce, and only then compensate — because compensation for an impact that could have been avoided rarely satisfies a regulator or a community. Where statutory sign-off requires accredited specialists or laboratories, we coordinate with them and are clear about the accreditations we do not hold ourselves.

In short

Environmental impact assessment evaluates the environmental effects of operations or projects and the measures to mitigate them. A sound assessment establishes the baseline first, so that significance can be judged against conditions as they actually are.

What we do

The work inside environmental impact assessment.

Baseline and screening

We establish baseline environmental conditions and screen for the effects likely to be significant. A documented baseline is what later lets an actual impact be distinguished from normal variation, and it is the first thing a regulator asks to see.

Impact identification

We assess air, water, waste, noise, land and biodiversity effects against defined significance criteria. Judging each effect by a consistent standard is what keeps the assessment proportionate rather than either alarmist or dismissive.

Mitigation design

We apply the mitigation hierarchy in order, avoiding and reducing impacts before considering compensation for what genuinely cannot be avoided. Following the hierarchy honestly is what makes a mitigation plan credible to regulators and affected communities alike.

Monitoring and compliance

We define the monitoring, reporting and permit obligations that apply once the project is operating. Setting out how compliance will be evidenced after implementation is what stops an assessment becoming a document that is filed and forgotten.

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand your sector, stakeholders, existing commitments, and the requests you are receiving. We establish who is asking you for ESG information and what you have already committed to publicly, so the work answers real pressure rather than a generic checklist.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review material topics, current data, governance, and the gap to the reporting you need to produce. We report plainly where your current numbers would not withstand scrutiny and what it would take to close the gap.

  3. 03

    Design

Define metrics, ownership, data flows, controls, and a reporting approach you can repeat. The design fixes how each number is produced and who owns it, so reporting becomes a repeatable process rather than an annual scramble.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Implement the measurement and governance changes, and review disclosures against the evidence. We test every public claim against its source before publication, so what you disclose is what you can defend.
