Cloud Security Assessment

We review cloud environments against how you actually operate them, examining identity and permissions, exposed resources, encryption, logging, and the drift between the intended design and reality. We look hardest at over-broad and standing administrative access and at resources that are publicly reachable, because these are what attackers exploit first. Findings are prioritised by exposure and impact, with least-privilege and configuration recommendations your team can apply. Where you later need control evidence for a framework, the same findings feed directly into that work.

In short

Cloud security assessment reviews identity, configuration, network and data exposure across your cloud accounts. It measures how the environment is actually configured against how it was meant to be, concentrating on the identity and exposure issues that cause most cloud incidents.

What we do

The work inside cloud security assessment.

Identity and permission review

We examine roles, access keys and privilege scope, paying particular attention to standing administrative access and unused permissions. Broad, permanent admin rights are the fastest route from one compromise to full account control. We recommend least-privilege changes that reduce that blast radius without breaking how teams work.

Exposure and network configuration

We identify publicly reachable storage, databases and management interfaces across accounts and regions. A single world-readable bucket or an open database port is a common cause of serious breaches. We provide an exposure inventory so each item can be closed or justified deliberately.

Data protection and encryption

We review encryption at rest and in transit, key management, backup protection and retention against the sensitivity of the data. We check that keys are managed and rotated rather than embedded, and that backups could survive an account compromise. The outcome shows where data is adequately protected and where it is not.

Logging and detection coverage

We check that audit and control-plane logging is enabled, retained for long enough, and actually monitored rather than merely collected. Without it, an incident cannot be reconstructed and often goes unnoticed. We identify the gaps and prioritise the sources that matter most for detection and investigation.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Identity and permission findings with least-privilege recommendations
  • Exposure inventory across accounts and regions
  • Data protection and key management review
  • Logging and detection gap analysis with priorities

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • Cloud accounts have multiplied without central review
  • Administrative access is broad and permanent
  • You cannot say whether any storage is publicly readable

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.

  2. 02

    Assess

Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.

  3. 03

    Design

Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
