Infrastructure Security Audit

We audit your infrastructure against a recognised hardening baseline suited to your platforms and report where reality has drifted from it. The review covers patch currency, configuration, privileged access and the resilience of your backups, with particular attention to what would survive a ransomware event. We rank findings by the risk they carry rather than by raw count, so remediation effort goes where it reduces risk most. The result is a prioritised plan your infrastructure team or supplier can execute.

In short

Infrastructure security audit reviews servers, endpoints, virtualisation and supporting services against a defensible baseline. It reports where the running estate has drifted from that baseline across patching, configuration, privileged access and backup protection, and what to do about it.

What we do

The work inside infrastructure security audit.

Baseline and hardening review

We compare actual configuration against a recognised hardening baseline appropriate to your platforms and operating reality. We record each deviation along with its exploitability rather than failing systems against controls that do not apply. The outcome is a clear, justified view of where hardening is missing and why it matters.

Patch and lifecycle currency

We assess patch levels and identify unsupported operating systems and components still carrying business load. End-of-life software that can no longer receive security fixes is a standing, unresolvable risk until it is replaced. We map where it lives and what depends on it so a realistic migration can be planned.

Privileged access

We review administrative accounts, shared credentials and the paths by which ordinary access can be escalated to full control. Shared admin logins and local accounts with identical passwords across systems are common and dangerous. We recommend changes that limit who holds privilege and how it can be reached.

Backup and recovery protection

We check whether backups are isolated enough to survive the compromise of the systems they protect, particularly a ransomware event. Backups on the same domain and network as production are frequently encrypted alongside it. We assess segregation, immutability and tested recoverability, not merely whether backups exist.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Hardening gap report against the chosen baseline
  • Patch and end-of-life exposure inventory
  • Privileged access findings and recommendations
  • Backup resilience assessment with remediation priorities

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • Server builds differ from each other and from any standard
  • Unsupported operating systems remain in production
  • Backups are on the same domain and network as the systems they protect

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.

  2. 02

    Assess

Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.

  3. 03

    Design

Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
