Tax & Regulatory Advisory

We work on the tax and regulatory dimension of business decisions alongside your tax advisers, so that structure choices and compliance obligations are understood before commitments are made rather than discovered afterwards. The emphasis is on raising the right questions early — within transactions, new entities and new jurisdictions — and coordinating the specialists who answer them. We also build the compliance calendar, ownership and process that keep filings from being missed. It matters because tax and regulatory questions tend to surface inside operational and transaction decisions, where they are easy to overlook until the decision is already made and far more expensive to address.

In short

Tax and regulatory advisory addresses the tax and regulatory implications of business structure, transactions and operations. We are not a tax practice: we identify issues and coordinate specialists; we do not give formal tax opinions or file returns.

What we do

The work inside tax & regulatory advisory.

Structure implications

We assess the tax and regulatory implications of entity and operating structure choices before they are locked in. Structure is cheap to shape at the outset and expensive to unwind once operations and history have built up around it. Bringing these questions forward means the structure chosen is one the business can live with as it grows.

Transaction considerations

We identify the tax and regulatory issues within a transaction early, while there is still room to act on them. Issues found after signing are constraints to be managed; the same issues found beforehand are choices. We flag them and bring in your tax advisers before the structure is fixed.

Cross-border coordination

We coordinate cross-border and transfer pricing matters with the specialist advisers in each jurisdiction. Multi-jurisdiction questions fail when each adviser optimises their own part and nobody holds the whole. Our role is to keep that coordination coherent so the overall position stands up.

Compliance calendar and process

We build the compliance calendar, assign ownership and set the process so filings are not missed. Missed deadlines are almost always a failure of process and ownership rather than of knowledge. A clear calendar with named owners turns compliance from a recurring scramble into routine.

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the decision, the financial context, and how finance currently operates. We establish exactly what question the engagement must answer, so a business-case review and a process redesign are not confused with one another.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review the case, processes, controls, and reporting against what the organisation needs to rely on. We report where the numbers and processes are dependable and where they rest on assumptions that will not hold under pressure.

  3. 03

    Design

Set out the financial approach, process design, control set, and reporting model. Definitions, ownership, and controls are documented so the improvement does not depend on us remaining involved.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support implementation, then track cost and benefit against what was approved. We measure realised value against the criteria agreed at the outset, so the decision is held to account rather than forgotten.
