API Development & Integration

We design and build APIs as products with contracts, versioning, authentication and monitoring, so integrations remain dependable as the systems on both sides change. The contract — resources, payloads, errors and how versions evolve — is specified so that your releases do not silently break the people who depend on them. Authentication, scopes and rate limits are set according to whether the interface is internal, for a partner or public. Reliability controls such as idempotency, retries and timeouts are built in, so one misbehaving consumer cannot take down a shared service.

In short

API development and integration defines, builds and secures the interfaces through which your systems and partners exchange data. An API is a promise to its consumers, and the value is in keeping that promise stable while everything behind it changes.

What we do

The work inside api development & integration.

Contract and versioning design

We specify resources, payloads, errors and versioning rules so consumers are not broken by your releases. A clear contract lets both sides evolve on their own schedule, with a defined path for change rather than a surprise. It also gives new consumers a single, honest description of how the interface behaves.

Authentication and authorisation

We implement token handling, scopes and client identity appropriate to internal, partner or public exposure. Each client can reach only what it is entitled to, and that entitlement is enforced rather than assumed. The scheme is matched to the exposure, so a public interface is not secured as loosely as an internal one.

Reliability controls

We add rate limiting, idempotency, retry semantics and timeouts so one failing consumer cannot take down a service. Idempotency in particular stops a retried request from charging twice or creating duplicate records. These controls keep a local problem local rather than letting it cascade.

Third-party integration

We connect to external services with mapped data, tested failure paths and reconciliation where money or stock is involved. The behaviour on timeout, duplicate and partial success is decided deliberately, because that is where bad data is created silently. Where value moves, both sides are reconciled on a schedule so divergence is caught, not discovered later.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • API specification with versioning and error contract
  • Authentication and authorisation design
  • Reliability controls: limits, idempotency and retry behaviour
  • Integration documentation and monitoring dashboards

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • Every new integration is a bespoke project
  • A partner release keeps breaking your interface
  • Nobody can say which systems consume a given interface

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the outcome, users, constraints, and the decisions that must be made before code direction is set. We spend this time with the people who own the result and the people who will build it, so scope reflects both.

  2. 02

    Assess

Examine the current architecture, delivery practice, integration surface, and engineering risk. We establish where the genuine difficulty lies, rather than accepting the risk the team already happens to worry about most.

  3. 03

    Design

Define the technical approach, delivery plan, quality gates, and ownership model in writing. Committing it to writing means the reasoning behind each decision survives staff change and supplier handover.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Work with your teams through build and release, adjusting the plan as evidence emerges rather than defending the original estimate. We keep the quality gates and progress evidence in place so leadership can watch the build land.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova provides software development consulting from Delhi, India, and works with product and engineering teams internationally — across India, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, the UK, and North America — remotely, with on-site time where the work needs it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
