Network Security Assessment

We assess external exposure and internal movement together: what is reachable, what is exploitable, and how far an attacker could travel once inside. From the outside we enumerate internet-facing services and identify what should not be reachable at all; from a foothold position we show the realistic paths toward your critical systems. We also verify that the segmentation your design claims actually restricts traffic, because it often does not. Findings are ranked by the risk they present and paired with practical remediation.

In short

Network security assessment examines exposure, segmentation and internal attack paths across your network estate. It establishes both what is reachable from the internet and how far an attacker could move once they had a foothold inside.

What we do

The work inside network security assessment.

External exposure review

We enumerate the services your organisation exposes to the internet and identify those that should not be reachable at all. Forgotten management interfaces, test systems and legacy services are common and dangerous findings. We produce a ranked inventory so the riskiest exposure is closed first.

Internal testing and lateral movement

We test from an assumed foothold, such as a compromised laptop, to show the realistic routes an attacker would take toward critical systems. This demonstrates how a single phishing success could spread rather than leaving it to assumption. We record each path taken and the specific weakness that enabled it.

Segmentation validation

We verify that network zones actually restrict traffic the way the design claims, by attempting to cross between them. Segmentation that exists on a diagram but not in the firewall rules is a frequent and serious gap. The result is evidence of which boundaries hold and which do not.

Remote access and firewall review

We examine VPN, remote access and firewall rule sets for over-permissive, duplicated or stale entries. Rules added quickly during expansion and never removed accumulate into unnecessary exposure. We identify what can be tightened or removed without disrupting legitimate access.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • External exposure inventory with risk ranking
  • Internal test findings with demonstrated attack paths
  • Segmentation validation results
  • Firewall and remote access rule review

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • The network grew through acquisition or expansion without review
  • Segmentation is documented but never verified
  • Remote access was expanded quickly and never tightened

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.

  2. 02

    Assess

Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.

  3. 03

    Design

Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
