Malware Analysis & Reverse Engineering

We analyse suspicious files and binaries in controlled, isolated conditions to establish their behaviour, indicators and likely impact. We determine what the sample can do, such as persistence, communication and credential access, so you can judge the scope of a compromise rather than guess at it. We produce indicators and detection logic you can deploy in your own tooling, and advise on what must be rebuilt rather than cleaned. Where deeper reverse engineering takes time, we provide interim findings so containment is not left waiting.

In short

Malware analysis and reverse engineering establish what a malicious sample does, what it touched and how to detect it. The work produces the behaviour, indicators and capability evidence that an incident decision can rest on, rather than relying on a vendor label alone.

What we do

The work inside malware analysis & reverse engineering.

Static and dynamic analysis

We examine the sample without running it and then observe its behaviour in an isolated environment with no route to live networks. Static analysis reveals structure and embedded detail, while dynamic analysis shows what it actually does when executed. Together they give a reliable account of the sample rather than a single-tool verdict.

Capability assessment

We determine the sample's capability for persistence, communication, credential access and data handling. This tells you what a compromise involving it could plausibly have achieved on your systems. The assessment directly informs how widely you must assume the intrusion spread.

Indicators and detection rules

We produce indicators of compromise and detection logic that you can deploy directly in your own tooling. These let you hunt for the same sample elsewhere in the estate and detect its return. The indicators are documented so your team can validate and tune them.

Containment advice

We advise on the likely scope of compromise and which systems must be rebuilt rather than cleaned. Some infections leave footholds that cleaning cannot be trusted to remove. Being explicit about this prevents a system being returned to service while still compromised.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Analysis report of observed behaviour and capability
  • Indicators of compromise for hunting
  • Detection rules for your tooling
  • Containment and remediation recommendations

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • A suspicious file or process was found and endpoint tools disagree
  • An incident needs the sample's capability established
  • Detection coverage for a specific threat must be verified

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.

  2. 02

    Assess

Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.

  3. 03

    Design

Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
