SAP Master Data Management

We put master data under genuine governance, covering ownership, definitions, creation workflow and quality measurement, because a surprising share of SAP process failures trace back to it. Ownership is assigned per domain and field with definitions written down, and creation and change requests pass through validation and approval rather than being entered unchecked. We prevent duplicates at the point of creation and cleanse the existing population, then measure completeness and accuracy against defined rules so quality is visible. The point is durable quality: cleansing alone degrades again within a year or two unless creation is controlled afterwards, so we design the governance that makes the cleanup last.

In short

SAP master data management establishes governance, quality and maintenance processes for material, customer, vendor and finance master data. It is the unglamorous foundation on which planning, pricing and reporting all depend, and the place where most process failures quietly begin.

What we do

The work inside sap master data management.

Ownership and definitions

We assign ownership per data domain and field and write down what each field means, so there is an accountable owner and an agreed definition rather than ambiguity. Clear ownership and definitions are what make governance work at all, because a workflow without accountable owners simply routes disputed data faster.

Creation and change workflow

We design request, validation and approval workflows for master data so that new and changed records are checked before they take effect. Validation at the point of entry stops bad data entering the system, which is far cheaper than finding and correcting it after it has caused errors downstream.

Duplicate prevention and cleansing

We prevent duplicates at creation through matching rules and cleanse the existing population of duplicate and inaccurate records. Addressing both ends, the backlog and the inflow, is what actually fixes the problem, since cleansing without prevention is undone within a year or two.

Quality measurement

We measure completeness and accuracy against defined rules and report on it, so data quality becomes visible and manageable rather than assumed. Ongoing measurement is what keeps governance honest, giving owners the evidence to act before quality quietly erodes again.

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the business drivers, decision rights, existing systems, and what the programme is genuinely expected to change. We separate the outcomes that justify the investment from the features that merely sound desirable, so the programme has a clear purpose to steer by.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review process, data, integration, controls, governance, and change readiness against the plan. We report where the plan is sound and where it rests on assumptions that will not survive contact with delivery.

  3. 03

    Design

Set out the target processes, control requirements, data approach, integration model, and adoption plan. Each is documented well enough for a system integrator to build to and for you to hold them to it.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support the programme through configuration, testing, cutover, and stabilisation with independent oversight. We keep the line on scope, data readiness, and controls while the integrator delivers, and flag drift while it is still correctable.
