We build reports, enhancements, interfaces and data services against documented requirements, so what is delivered matches what was agreed and can be verified. Writing the requirement down first also tends to surface simpler standard options, which sometimes removes the need for custom code altogether.
We use released APIs and published extension points rather than modifying standard SAP objects. This keeps the core clean and upgradeable, so routine upgrades and a future S/4HANA conversion remain routine rather than turning into remediation projects.
We apply consistent development standards backed by peer review, static checks and documentation, so quality does not depend on who happened to write the object. The result is code that a different developer can pick up and change safely, which is what keeps long-term support cost down.
We analyse and tune expensive database statements and long-running programs on production-like volumes, where problems actually appear. Addressing the few statements that dominate runtime usually recovers far more than broad micro-optimisation, and we target that effort deliberately.
