SOC 2 Readiness & Compliance

SOC 2 is usually driven by a US customer who will not sign without a report, so the work has to fit real engineering practice rather than disrupt it. We help you select the trust services criteria your customers actually require, set the system scope, and design controls that match how your teams already operate. The emphasis is on automating evidence collection, so a Type II observation period does not turn into months of manual screenshotting. We prepare the controls and evidence and support the examination, but the report is issued by a licensed CPA firm, not by us.

In short

SOC 2 readiness prepares your controls and evidence for a service auditor's Type I or Type II examination. It focuses on building evidence that accrues continuously, since a Type II report rests on how controls operated across a period rather than on a single point in time.

What we do

The work inside soc 2 readiness & compliance.

Criteria selection and scope

We choose the trust services criteria your customers actually require and set the system scope accordingly. Security is always in; availability, confidentiality, processing integrity and privacy are added only where they are genuinely needed. Including criteria nobody asked for adds cost and ongoing evidence burden for no commercial return.

Control design

We design controls that fit your engineering and operational reality rather than an idealised process. Controls that cut across how developers actually ship are the ones that fail during the observation period. Designing them to sit on existing tooling means the evidence is generated by normal work.

Evidence generation

We automate evidence collection so a Type II observation period does not become a manual effort. Access reviews, change approvals, backup success and monitoring alerts can largely be captured by the systems that produce them. This is the single biggest reduction in the recurring cost of maintaining SOC 2 year after year.

Readiness assessment and auditor liaison

We test readiness before the examination and support the process with the auditor once it begins. The readiness assessment finds the gaps while there is still time to remediate rather than during fieldwork. We manage evidence requests and help ensure findings are factually accurate before the report is finalised.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Criteria and scope decision
  • Control set mapped to criteria
  • Evidence collection approach with automation
  • Readiness assessment and remediation plan

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • US customers or partners are asking for a SOC 2 report
  • A Type II period is approaching and evidence is manual
  • Controls exist in engineering practice but are undocumented

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Establish the obligations, decision rights, and risks that genuinely matter to this organisation. We separate the requirements that truly apply from those assumed to, so effort is not spent governing risks you do not carry.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review existing controls, policy, evidence, and how the work is actually performed. We compare the control on paper with the control in practice, because the gap between the two is usually where the real risk sits.

  3. 03

    Design

Design a proportionate control set with named ownership, evidence, and review cadence. Every control has an owner who can operate it and a defined source of evidence, so nothing depends on memory or heroics.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Embed the changes with the teams doing the work, and test that the controls operate. We hand over controls the process owners can run themselves, rather than a framework only we understand.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova provides governance, risk and compliance consulting from Delhi, India, and works with organisations operating in several jurisdictions at once, mapping obligations across regions to one coherent control set.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
