Cyber Risk Assessment

Boards increasingly ask what a cyber incident would cost, and a list of technical vulnerabilities does not answer that question. We assess cyber risk through concrete scenarios — ransomware, business email compromise, data exfiltration, supplier compromise — chosen for your sector and exposure. For each one we test whether the controls you already have would genuinely interrupt it, and express the consequences in operational, financial and regulatory terms. The assessment is written so leadership and insurers can act on it, with assumptions stated plainly rather than hidden inside a single number.

In short

Cyber risk assessment quantifies the likelihood and impact of credible cyber scenarios against your organisation. It answers what an incident would actually cost and which of your controls would interrupt it, rather than cataloguing weaknesses in the abstract.

What we do

The work inside cyber risk assessment.

Scenario development

We build a small set of credible scenarios grounded in your sector, technology and exposure, rather than a generic threat list. Concrete scenarios make the discussion tractable: people can reason about ransomware reaching the finance systems in a way they cannot about "cyber risk". Each scenario is documented with its assumed entry point and progression so the analysis can be challenged.

Control effectiveness

We assess whether the controls you already have would actually interrupt each scenario at some point in its progression. This is where comfortable assumptions tend to fail — a control may exist on paper but not cover the path the scenario takes. The result tells you which investments genuinely reduce risk and which merely add activity.

Impact analysis

We express the consequences of each scenario in operational, financial and regulatory terms — downtime, recovery cost, penalties and lost business. Expressing impact in ranges with stated assumptions is more honest and more useful than a single precise-looking figure. It gives the board a defensible basis for deciding how much to spend avoiding it.

Reporting and insurance input

We provide the assessment leadership and insurers need, in a form each can use. For the board it supports an investment decision; for an insurer it supports a renewal or a claim. The same underlying analysis serves both, so the work is not repeated for each audience.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Credible cyber scenarios documented
  • Control effectiveness assessment per scenario
  • Business impact analysis
  • Board-ready cyber risk report

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • The board is asking what a cyber incident would cost
  • Insurance renewal requires a documented assessment
  • Security controls exist but their effect on risk is unknown

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Establish the obligations, decision rights, and risks that genuinely matter to this organisation. We separate the requirements that truly apply from those assumed to, so effort is not spent governing risks you do not carry.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review existing controls, policy, evidence, and how the work is actually performed. We compare the control on paper with the control in practice, because the gap between the two is usually where the real risk sits.

  3. 03

    Design

Design a proportionate control set with named ownership, evidence, and review cadence. Every control has an owner who can operate it and a defined source of evidence, so nothing depends on memory or heroics.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Embed the changes with the teams doing the work, and test that the controls operate. We hand over controls the process owners can run themselves, rather than a framework only we understand.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova provides governance, risk and compliance consulting from Delhi, India, and works with organisations operating in several jurisdictions at once, mapping obligations across regions to one coherent control set.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
