Audit Readiness & Support

Audits produce surprises when evidence is scattered and control owners are unsure what they will be asked. We prepare you ahead of time — evidence assembled and mapped to the requirement set, known gaps disclosed with remediation plans, and control owners briefed to describe what they actually do without over-claiming. A mock audit exposes weak evidence and unprepared owners while there is still time to fix them. During fieldwork we support the process, manage the auditor's requests, and help ensure findings are factually accurate before they are finalised.

In short

Audit readiness and support prepares the organisation, evidence and people for an external audit, and supports it while it runs. A gap disclosed with a remediation plan is handled far better than one the auditor discovers, which is the principle the whole exercise follows.

What we do

The work inside audit readiness & support.

Evidence assembly

We collect and organise evidence against the requirement set before the auditor arrives, so each requirement maps to the proof that supports it. Evidence found calmly in advance is stronger than evidence improvised under the pressure of fieldwork. Mapping it to requirements also reveals where proof is thin while there is still time to strengthen it.

Mock audit

We run a dry run under audit conditions to expose weak evidence and unprepared control owners. It is far better to find these in rehearsal than in front of the auditor, where they cast doubt on everything else. The mock audit turns up the specific, fixable issues that otherwise become findings.

Interview preparation

We prepare control owners to describe what they actually do, accurately and without over-claiming. Owners who guess, or who inflate what they do, create findings out of controls that were in fact adequate. Preparation is about describing the real process plainly, since an auditor tests the claim against the evidence.

Fieldwork support and response

We support the audit as it runs, manage the flow of evidence requests, and respond to findings with corrective actions. Keeping requests organised stops fieldwork stalling and reduces the disruption to the business. When findings are raised we make sure they are factually accurate before they are finalised, and respond with actions rather than argument.

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Establish the obligations, decision rights, and risks that genuinely matter to this organisation. We separate the requirements that truly apply from those assumed to, so effort is not spent governing risks you do not carry.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review existing controls, policy, evidence, and how the work is actually performed. We compare the control on paper with the control in practice, because the gap between the two is usually where the real risk sits.

  3. 03

    Design

Design a proportionate control set with named ownership, evidence, and review cadence. Every control has an owner who can operate it and a defined source of evidence, so nothing depends on memory or heroics.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Embed the changes with the teams doing the work, and test that the controls operate. We hand over controls the process owners can run themselves, rather than a framework only we understand.
