ESG Risk Management

We integrate ESG risks into enterprise risk management with named owners, defined appetite and regular reporting, so they are managed rather than reported in isolation. Risks held in a separate ESG schedule tend to attract separate, and usually less serious, attention, so we score them on the same basis as every other enterprise risk. Among the controls we design is a review of public sustainability claims before release, because greenwashing exposure now carries real regulatory and litigation risk. The outcome is a register the board recognises and acts on, not a parallel document that few people read.

In short

ESG risk management brings environmental, social and governance risks into the same register and process as other enterprise risks. A risk kept in its own schedule gets its own, lesser, attention; integration is what gets it owned and funded.

What we do

The work inside esg risk management.

ESG risk identification

We identify the environmental, social and governance risks specific to your operations and value chain, not a generic list. Grounding identification in your actual activities is what keeps the register relevant and stops it filling with risks that do not apply to you.

Integration with enterprise risk

We bring ESG risks into a single register with consistent scoring and clear ownership. Shared scoring is what lets them compete for attention and resource on equal terms with financial and operational risks.

Controls and greenwashing risk

We design controls that include a review of public claims before they are published. A claims-review step tests each statement against its evidence, which is the practical defence against the growing regulatory and litigation exposure around greenwashing.

Monitoring and reporting

We set indicators and report their movement to the board on a regular cadence. Watching the direction of travel, rather than revisiting risks once a year, is what allows a response before a risk crystallises.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • ESG risk register integrated with enterprise risk
  • Consistent scoring and ownership assignment
  • Control set including claims review
  • Monitoring indicators and reporting format

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • ESG risks are discussed but absent from the risk register
  • Public sustainability claims are not reviewed before release
  • Regulatory change in this area is not being tracked

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand your sector, stakeholders, existing commitments, and the requests you are receiving. We establish who is asking you for ESG information and what you have already committed to publicly, so the work answers real pressure rather than a generic checklist.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review material topics, current data, governance, and the gap to the reporting you need to produce. We report plainly where your current numbers would not withstand scrutiny and what it would take to close the gap.

  3. 03

    Design

Define metrics, ownership, data flows, controls, and a reporting approach you can repeat. The design fixes how each number is produced and who owns it, so reporting becomes a repeatable process rather than an annual scramble.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Implement the measurement and governance changes, and review disclosures against the evidence. We test every public claim against its source before publication, so what you disclose is what you can defend.
