We test iOS and Android applications for local data exposure, weak transport protection, tampering resistance and the API weaknesses behind them. We examine what the app writes to the device and what survives logout, whether its traffic can be intercepted, and how much a determined person can learn or change by reverse engineering the build. We then test the backend APIs the app relies on, where most genuinely exploitable issues live. Findings are reported per platform where behaviour differs, with reproduction detail and remediation guidance.
In short
Mobile application security testing examines the app on the device, the traffic it sends, and the backend APIs it depends on. It covers what the app stores and leaks locally as well as the server-side weaknesses that sit behind it, because the most serious issues are usually in the backend rather than the binary.
We examine what the app writes to the device, how it is protected, and what remains after logout. This covers caches, databases, preference files, logs and material held in the keychain or keystore. We flag anything sensitive that is stored unencrypted or left behind where another app or a lost-device scenario could reach it.
Transport and pinning
We test TLS configuration, certificate validation and certificate pinning by attempting to intercept and modify the app's traffic. Where interception succeeds, an attacker on the same network can read or alter data in transit. We report whether pinning is present, correctly implemented and whether it can be bypassed on a rooted or jailbroken device.
Reverse engineering and tampering
We assess how much the binary reveals once decompiled and whether client-side controls can be removed or altered. Hard-coded secrets, exposed endpoints and security checks that live only on the device are common findings. The outcome shows which protections genuinely resist tampering and which merely assume an honest client.
Backend API testing
We test the APIs the app calls, because this is where the majority of exploitable issues actually sit. We check authorisation on every endpoint, the handling of identifiers that could reach other users' data, and whether server-side validation can be bypassed by a modified client. These findings usually carry the greatest impact and the clearest fixes.

How an engagement runs
Discover, assess, design, deliver.
01
Discover
Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.
02
Assess
Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.
03
Design
Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.
04
Deliver
Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.
Where we work
Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.
Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.
Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
