Managed Detection & Response

We design and oversee MDR arrangements, defining coverage, containment authority, response times and reporting so that an outsourced service delivers what it promises rather than what the brochure implies. We make explicit what a provider must be able to see and what they may isolate or disable without waiting for you, and when. We then test the service against real cases and controlled exercises instead of trusting a dashboard. Where round-the-clock staffed monitoring is required, we help you select a provider and hold them to the terms you agreed.

In short

Managed detection and response provides continuous monitoring with the authority to contain threats when they appear. Its value depends on what the provider can actually see and is permitted to do, which is precisely what an advisory engagement makes explicit and holds to account.

What we do

The work inside managed detection & response.

Requirements and coverage design

We define what must be monitored and what a provider must be able to see and do to be effective. Gaps in telemetry or access mean threats pass unseen regardless of how good the provider is. The requirements become the yardstick against which any provider is measured.

Containment authority

We agree in advance what may be isolated or disabled without waiting for your sign-off, and under what circumstances. Alerting without the authority to act wastes the minutes that matter most during an incident. Setting this out beforehand means containment happens at machine speed rather than after a phone call.

Escalation and communication

We set out who is contacted, how quickly, and what evidence accompanies each escalation. Clear communication prevents an incident stalling while people work out who owns the response. The matrix removes ambiguity at exactly the moment it is most costly.

Service performance review

We test and review the provider against real cases and controlled detection exercises, not the figures on a dashboard. This reveals whether the agreed response times and containment authority hold up in practice. The review gives you evidence to renew, challenge or change the arrangement.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Coverage and monitoring requirements
  • Containment authority and escalation matrix
  • Provider evaluation and selection recommendation
  • Service review with performance evidence

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • Nobody is watching outside working hours
  • An MDR provider is in place but never tested
  • Alerts arrive with no containment happening

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand what matters most, the obligations in play, and what the organisation is genuinely trying to protect. We agree scope and rules of engagement in writing here, so testing is bounded and authorised before it begins.

  2. 02

    Assess

Test and review the systems in scope, and establish real exposure rather than theoretical risk. We gather evidence for every finding, so severity reflects what we demonstrated rather than what is merely conceivable.

  3. 03

    Design

Prioritise remediation, control improvements, and architecture changes against risk and effort. We sequence the work so the exposures that matter most are closed first, within what the team can realistically do.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support remediation, retest what was fixed, and help the practice hold as the environment changes. We confirm fixes actually closed the issue, rather than taking remediation on trust.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova delivers cybersecurity consulting and technical assurance from Delhi, India, and works with clients internationally; testing and review are performed remotely against your environments, with on-site work arranged when scope requires it.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
