Machine Learning Development

We build machine learning models only where a genuine pattern exists in your data, and we check that first rather than assuming it. Every candidate is measured against a simple baseline so its value can be stated in numbers rather than asserted. We guard against the common traps — data leakage, optimistic random splits, evaluation that flatters the model — because these are what cause a build to look good and then fail in production. What we deploy comes with monitoring, because a model that is never watched quietly degrades.

In short

Machine learning development builds and validates models on your own data, with honest evaluation and a route into production. A model that cannot beat a simple baseline is not worth deploying, and we say so.

What we do

The work inside machine learning development.

Problem framing and baseline

We define the prediction precisely, the decision it is meant to support and the simple baseline any model must beat to earn its place. This framing is where most projects are won or lost, because a model aimed at the wrong target cannot be rescued later. It also tells us early whether the problem is worth solving with machine learning at all.

Data preparation and features

We assemble, clean and engineer features with explicit leakage checks and documented lineage for every input. Leakage — letting information that would not be available at decision time slip into training — is the single most common cause of models that fail quietly in production. Documented lineage means every feature can be traced back and reproduced.

Training and evaluation

We train candidate models and report their performance on held-out data, including an honest account of where and how they fail. We test on recent periods rather than random splits so the result reflects how the model will behave on tomorrow's data. The evaluation states the limitations plainly rather than quoting a single headline figure.

Deployment and monitoring

We serve the model behind a stable interface and monitor input drift and accuracy over time. A defined retraining trigger means decline is caught by the monitoring rather than by the business noticing worse decisions. Rollback to the previous model stays available throughout.

What you receive

Deliverables, in writing.

Documented output your teams keep and can act on without us in the room.

  • Problem definition with baseline and success threshold
  • Documented feature pipeline with lineage
  • Evaluation report including error analysis and limitations
  • Deployed model with monitoring for drift and performance

When this work helps

You may be facing this.

  • Decisions are made on rules of thumb that data could inform
  • A model was built once and nobody knows if it still performs
  • Manual triage or scoring consumes significant staff time

How an engagement runs

Discover, assess, design, deliver.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the workflow, the data available, the constraints, and what a good outcome would look like. We establish the problem precisely enough to judge whether AI is even the right instrument for it.

  2. 02

    Assess

Review data protection, security, oversight, and feasibility for the specific use cases on the table. We report which cases are worth building, which are better solved another way, and what would have to be true to proceed safely.

  3. 03

    Design

Set out the approach, controls, governance, and evaluation measures before build begins. Deciding data boundaries, oversight, and how success will be measured up front keeps them from becoming retrofits.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Support implementation and evaluate performance, error modes, and control effectiveness in use. We measure the system against the criteria agreed at design, and report honestly where it falls short.

Where we work

Delhi, India — and wherever the work is.

Fidova advises on AI adoption and AI governance from Delhi, India, and works with organisations internationally, including teams that must satisfy overlapping regimes such as India's data protection law, the EU AI Act, and GDPR.

Engagements run in English, are scheduled around your time zone, and can be delivered remotely end to end, with on-site time planned where a phase genuinely benefits from being in the room.
